尾形光琳（1658〜1716）


斬新な意匠と豊かな装飾性あふれる独自の画風

を築きあげたことでよく知られています。
本品は、桃山時代の画家・俵屋宗達の名作を

光琳が感化され、描いたものです。
再版には、明治期に木版画で出版した当時の

「原版木」を用い、和紙の上に金箔を貼り

京都在住の名摺師が手摺しました。

Korin Ogata, 1658-1716 
Korin Ogata was a painter of the Rimpa School.
But he was also a very versatile artisan who
worked in ceramics, textile designs and 

lacquer ware.
Korin Ogata's style of nature paintings 

influenced generations of artists after him. 

His designs were copied until the 20th century.
