ポストモダンの香り漂う

加藤晃秀先生(1936年～2015年）。京都美術大学

日本画科卒業後、デザイン工房を設立し、各種

工芸品企画に参画する一方、独特のタッチの

“粋画”を創案されました。ニューヨークなどの

各地で個展を開催し、海外からも注目を集めて

います。白と黒を基調にした大胆な構図で古都
の風情を描き、木版画で再現いたしました。
画面下に落款入り。

Teruhide Kato, born 1936～2015
Teruhide Kato had studied at Kyoto Art College.

He was a famous kimono fashion designer.

When he was 50 years old, he decided to follow

his real passion, and became a traditional Kyoto

woodblock artist. Success remained with the artist.
After a gallery exhibition in New York and a book

publication of his works titled "Kyoto Romance"

he is as famous as a woodblock artist as he used

to be as a kimono designer.
