谷上廣南（1879～1928）
兵庫県西宮生まれ。画才を鈴木松年の高弟
湯川松堂に認められ、花鳥画のジャンルに特異
な境地を開き天分を開華。一方大阪図案家協会
を設立主催。洋花を採り入れた大胆な花鳥画は
装飾画の趣向に新しい画風を確立した。

本品は芸艸堂刊「西洋草花図譜」のオリジナル
版木を用い、昭和中期にインテリア用として
再版した木版画です。

Woodcut print Cypripedium

Konan Tanigami (1879-1928)
he produced many excellent flower-plant 
themed prints before W.W.II.
The most of his works were printed in 
exquisite colors by Unsodo.

This print is reprinted from the book 
in the middle of the Showa period.

The book is 5 volumes of a picture
album of Western plants known.
They were published by Unsodo in Kyoto 
around 1917/18.An album copy can be found 
in the collection of the British Library.
