観賞用木版画は浮世絵が現在も国内外で人気が
あり、昭和初期には新版画という新しいジャンル
を開拓し海外へ発信し続け、現在国内でも再評価
されています。
浮世絵から続く木版技術を継承し、まるで写真の
ように摺り上げる新たな木版画表現の作品を
彫師：北村氏と創り上げました。

FOTO-ドイツ語で写真（木版摺の道具「馬連」の
語源とも言われているので
ドイツ語表記 Foto-HANGA としました。）

北村昇一（Kitamura　Shoichi）　（1968年～）京都生まれ。
京都精華大学 美術学部造形学科 版画専攻
木版画科卒業。版画家黒崎彰に木版を学ぶ。
2001年北村木版画工房開設。



主な仕事
浮世絵版画や現代作家の版画など、様々な木版画
の彫り・摺りを行う。国内外でのワークショップ
実演を多数行う。

現在までに携わった主な作家
徳力富吉郎、黒崎彰、武蔵篤彦、井堂雅夫、
佐野せいじ、本荘正彦、佐久間顕一、坂本恭子、

Woodcut print like a photo Foto-HANGA

Ukiyo-e is still popular all over the world for interior
woodcut prints, and in the early Showa period,
it pioneered a new genre called Shin-HANGA and
is currently being re-evaluated.
Continuing the woodcut technique of ukiyo-e,
it will be printed like a photo.
We created a new woodcut print work with a carver:
Mr. Kitamura.

FOTO-Photograph in German (because it is also said to
be the etymology of the woodcut printing tool "Baren")

Shoichi Kitamura (1968-)　Born in Kyoto.
Graduated from Kyoto Seika University,Department of
Printmaking.Learned woodblock printing from printmaker
Akira Kurosaki.
2001 Kitamura Woodblock Print Studio opened.

Main work
Workshops held in Japan,Finland and Denmark.
Collaboration with overseas artists from Singapore
and Australia.
Member of the Kyoto Woodblock Printing Craft
Association and the Association for Preserving
the Technical Skills of Carving and Printing
Ukiyo-e Woodblock Prints.
